Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions and Acceptance

  • The Company: GASZED, providing plumbing and heating services.

  • The Customer: The person or organisation requesting works.

  • Acceptance: By accepting a written quote (via email or signature), you agree to these terms.

2. Quotations and Estimates

  • Validity: Quotes are typically valid for 30 days. Prices may be adjusted thereafter due to material cost increases.

  • Scope: Quotes are based on a visual inspection. If unforeseen issues arise (e.g., asbestos, hidden pipe corrosion), the company will notify the customer of any additional costs before proceeding.

3. Payment Terms

  • Deposits: A deposit (often 25–50%) may be required for large jobs or special-order materials.

  • Final Payment: Full payment is due immediately upon completion of works unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Late Payment: Unpaid invoices may incur interest (often 8% above the Bank of England base rate).

4. Cancellation and Cooling-Off Rights

  • 14-Day Right to Cancel: For contracts signed at home or online, customers have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel without penalty.

  • Urgent Repairs: If you request work to begin within the 14-day period, you agree to pay for services provided up to the point of cancellation.

  • Standard Cancellation: Cancellations outside the cooling-off period but within 24–48 hours of an appointment may incur a cancellation fee.

5. Workmanship and Materials Guarantee

  • Workmanship: Guaranteed for 12 months from completion. This covers faults due to poor installation but not wear and tear.

  • Materials: Supplied goods (e.g., boilers, taps) are subject to the manufacturer’s warranty.

  • Exclusions: The guarantee is void if the work is tampered with by a third party or if the issue arises from pre-existing system faults not worked on by the company.

6. Customer Obligations

  • Access: The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the property at the agreed time.

  • Permissions: It is the customer's responsibility to obtain necessary permissions (e.g., from landlords or local councils) before work begins.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • Pre-existing Faults: The company is not liable for damage to aged or inferior systems that fail when new equipment is connected (e.g., old radiators leaking after a high-pressure boiler installation).

  • Cosmetic Damage: The company will take care but is not responsible for minor cosmetic damage (e.g., hairline cracks or lifted floorboards) necessary to access pipework.

8. Governing Law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
